My thoughts....

Happy Sunday to all my blogging friends! The day is almost over and I'm sitting here with a random collection of thoughts for the day, so I decided to put them in a blog post. I figure, someone else would love to read them too!

First off, Happy Easter to those reader's that celebrate this glorious holiday. I hope you and your family have enjoyed the day. My little one was very excited this morning to see that the bunny arrived. You know I struggle with this whole "bunny" thing. I mean since when does a furry animal become human like and now start delivering gifts on two legs. Kind of weird, right? I think so, but regardless of my non-bunny thoughts, he came and I had a very excited boy! This year the bunny even brought three of my boy's favorite books and this seemed to be the biggest hit of all, even beat out the candy. Props to the "bunny!"
Yesterday I had planned to get my run in, but time got away from me because of the grocery store. The ever, dreaded grocery store. Just took way longer than I expected. So this morning after the "bunny" excitement died down, I went out for a short, quick run. Did 3.1, and I actually PR' was only by a few seconds, but I'll take it. It's nice to see these little bursts of improvement. I've decided that when it comes to my training runs, I'm going to really try and stick with adding mileage the right way and not too fast. I think doing too much, too soon was the cause of my leg/shin pain last month. Taking things slow is actually going to be hard for me because I like to see things improve immediately. I have no patience. But this will be good...I just know it. Slow and steady wins the race, right?
I feel like there are a million more things I could keep talking about, but I guess I'll save it for another day. How was your Sunday? Did you do anything special for Easter? Did you get a run in?

  1. Slow and steady may win the race, but I feel I'm in a rut with the slow steady. On the other hand, my goals this year are merely to finish both Dumbo and Dopey. Having never run a marathon before, I figure just finishing is goal enough. So, like you, I'm trying to add mileage the right way and not too fast. Every 3rd week I'll take it easier.

As for the Bunny thing - I've got mixed feeling. Childhood should be a time of wonder, but I think it should not be pushed too far. The fun and the traditions are more important than the fables.

    1. Hi Rick! That's so exciting that your goals are Dumbo and Dopey. Finishing is more than enough. You have the courage to start and that is what's important.

I totally agree about childhood and the wonder factor. Sometimes it's hard for me to see these make-believe people and animals get all the credit. So I try and keep things in check and never go overboard. 😊

  2. Great job with the PR! :0) We had a great Easter-glad you did, too!

    1. Thanks Karen! I was excited and now it gives me a little mental boost! Glad you guys had a great Easter!
