Want to run in paradise?

I'm always on the hunt for my next race. Finding new races and new places to venture to always put some pep in my training. One day I came across a new, inaugural race for the fall. It's on October 12th in one of my favorite places. It's The Southernmost Marathon and Half Marathon in Key West! And guess what? I've also got a $10 off promo code for all my fans, so keep on reading.

Paradise...fun in the sun, toes in the sand, with a drink in my hand. That's exactly what I thought of when I first read the location for this race was Key West. Then combine that with my love for running, races, and bling...it's a win win! This is one race that I didn't even hesitate on.

"No hills, just chills" is the motto of this race! Only in Key West, right? To me, the course seems to be what I call "flat and fast." If you're looking for a PR then @somomarathon (or half marathon) is your race. The course will take you around the island, from the Atlantic to the Gulf, and back. Along the route you'll have historic landmarks and amazing scenery to take in during each mile. Take a look at the courses!

And then there is the finish line. You'll cross the finish line at The Rum Barrel, where a fabulous celebration party will be in full swing. There will be live music and snacks/drinks for runners. There's also lots of great events going on during the weekend to kick off and celebrate the race.

So what do you think? Are you ready for this amazing race? If so, the awesome people at The Southernmost Marathon are offering a discount for my readers. A fan of mine, is a friend of theirs! Use the code PAVE10 for $10 off your registration. You can also check them out on Facebook or Twitter. Tell them The Pavement Princess sent you. Can't wait to see you there!

  3. That does sound like a lot of fun, but way too much travel for me at this point. Plus, I would probably get distracted by the Rum Barrel prior to the race and be in no condition. I do know that Mr PugRunner really wants to get back to Key West one of these days, so maybe, at another time, this would be a good compromise for the family.

Can't wait to hear all about it!
