The social media world is a buzz about ENERGYbits. All over Twiter, people are sharing their success with using them as fuel for training and/or running. Luckily ENERGYbits gave me a sample to review. Here's my thoughts on the hype!
So what are ENERGYbits? They are algae tabs made from 100% organically grown spirulina algae and lots of other nutrients. These little bits pack the highest concentration of protein in the world (64% to be exact). This is what drew me to them....getting protein in such an easy way. Pop back some tabs and there you go!
So what do these bits do for you? To me it seems like they do everything. According to the ENERGYbits website, they are best used for:
- Increasing Energy
- Increasing Endurance
- Increasing Mental Vitality
- High Protein Snack
- Curbing Hunger
- Meal Replacement
- Balancing Blood Sugar
- Lowering Blood Pressure
- Reducing Fatigue
So what do you do with all these ENERGYbits? You have to swallow at least 30 tabs before any workout, run, or activity where you might need boost. Whatever you do, don't chew them. It's not a very pleasant experience if you do.
So what are the pros of ENERGYbits? Well first it's how packed with protein these little algae tabs are. They are truly a super food that's natural and good for you. They're also super portable. I took them on several runs without fail. The best was a run after work one day when I didn't feel like going. I popped some ENERGYbits before I took off on my run and during my run I felt great and completely re-energized from my day.
So what are the cons? Well the quantity per serving (30 tabs at a time) was a big downer for me. I've never really been a pill popper (been this way since childhood). It took me FOREVER to get them down because I was only taking a few at a time. My only other issue was the smell. I think I'm a little sensitive to the natural, algae smell.
If you're looking for a boost of energy in a natural form that's good for you, then ENERGYbits might be perfect! It's worth giving them a try. I'm glad I got to try them out. Follow them on Twitter and Facebook for more information.
