This place is like my home away from home. We come to the Gaylord Palms several times a year. It's location is perfect for all things Disney related and the price can't be beat because they offer a great discount for teachers and for Florida residents. We stayed in the Emerald Bay section with an atrium balcony. Check out the amazing view!
For this trip, we stayed for two nights. We spent most of our time lounging by the pool. The pool at the Gaylord Palms is awesome. I really should clarify the word "pool." It's more like an experience...they call it the Cypress Springs Family Fun Water Park. The pool area has slides, a multi-level water playground, a zero entry pool with basketball hoops, and an outdoor movie theater. It's perfect for kids and my little man loves it. Check it the awesome multi-level water playground. Who needs a theme park when you have this?
When Friday afternoon rolled around, so did the typical afternoon thunderstorms. We took advantage of the rainy weather and went to the movies at Downtown Disney. Guess what we saw? Wait for it.....Monsters University. And in 3D! My little boy was in heaven. It was the cutest movie ever and a MUST see!
After the movie, we strolled through Downtown Disney. We hit up the Candy Cauldron and got some sweet treats. I opted for a caramel apple. It was cute and delicious.Afterwards we stopped by the D-Street Vinylmation store. I was on a mission for one particular little vinylmation guy. He's the runDisney guy and I was so excited to finally get my hands on him. Isn't he adorable?
We had a great mini-vacay at the Gaylord Palms in Orlando. I'm sure we'll be back again this summer because it never disappoints.
Have you ever been to the Gaylord Palms? Where's your favorite place to visit for a mini-vacay?
