Weekly Workout Rewind: Week of July 8th

So here we are....week seven of marathon training. This week I was down in the Keys for vacation. It was hard balancing being in vacation and training mode at the same time. I was loving my down time with a drink in my hand, but I was also excited about running in a new place. I managed to get two back to back runs in during my vacation. Let's rewind and see how things went this week....

Monday: First day of vacation & I was in relaxation mode
Tuesday: 4 mile run with my mom
Wednesday: 4 mile tempo run
Thursday: Back to vacation mode
Friday: Last day of being in vacation mode
Saturday: 2 mile run
Sunday: 7 mile run
I was glad to add some back to back runs this week in preparation for the Dumbo Challenge. It's going to be here before I know it. I wish I could have added some cross training this week, but I can redeem myself now that I'm back home.

Have you ever kept to a training plan while on vacation? Do you love running in new places?

    1. Thanks Maggie! I haven't run with my mom since Princess in 2012, so it was so awesome. I need to run with her more often!

  2. Aw. I love that you run with your mom! I hope that I can get my mom to join me when she finally moves down here.

I do usually manage to run on vacation, if we are away longer than 2 or 3 days. If we are just doing a long weekend, I generally skip it since we are probably on the go.

  4. I tried running while we were at the lake but I'll be honest, it was hot and hilly and no fun, but I managed two 30 minute runs so I'm calling it a success :)
