Weekly Workout Rewind: Week of August 5th

Where did the week go? This week just flew by and not in a good way. Summer is pretty much over. This week I unofficially went back to work getting my classroom ready and attending some in-service meetings. So not fun. I'm already missing my summer days filled with blogging and tweeting! 

This week closed out Week 11 of marathon training. Can't believe it's past the half way mark now. Eek! I was super excited about hitting the pavement because I started the week off with a new pair of kicks. I finally made the transition to the Wave Rider 16. Aren't they pretty? 
It was a quiet week mileage wise. Guess this is Jeff Galloway's way of letting your body rest and keeping you injury free. Well that is until you're running at zero dark thirty on Saturday morning and you run right into a hole. Yep, that was me. As I sit and type this post I'm still elevating and icing. Hopefully the twinge of pain in my leg will start to subside....must stay injury free for Disneyland in t-minus three weeks. Let's rewind and see how the week went...

Monday: 45 minutes on the elliptical
Tuesday: 4 mile run
Wednesday: Rest 
Thursday: 4 mile run
Friday: 3 hours of yard work (cross training at it's finest)
Saturday: 10 mile run
Sunday: Rest (along with icing and elevating)
I'm looking forward to the upcoming week. I've got another set of back to back runs planned. And I'll be hitting my longest run ever....15 miles! I'm secretly excited for this milestone!! Fingers crossed for an injury free week!
