Are you a numbers person? The kind where you notice specific numbers than mean something to you? Well this week was all about the numbers for me.
This week was Week 10 of marathon training. I'm half way through my twenty week training plan. Also, my longest run this week was the half marathon distance. See the pattern here....I am at the half way point of training doing the 13.1 distance which is half way to a full marathon. I also managed to log 26 miles this week, which I thought was kind of cool on my way to training for 26.2. Yes I know I'm a dork for this whole numbers game I'm playing in my head.
So let's rewind and see how things went this week....
Monday: 4 mile run
Tuesday: 45 minutes on the elliptical
Wednesday: 5 mile run
Friday: 4 mile run
Saturday: 13.1 mile run
Guess what? I took my very first ice bath after my long run. I used one 20lb bag of ice...next time I'll use two of these bags. Yes it was cold, but it was worth it because today I feel great. I'll be adding ice baths to my long runs from now on.
This week also marks less than 4 weeks until the Dumbo Challenge at Disneyland in California. After this week's back to back runs, I'm feeling so ready for Dumbo.
