Weekly Workout Rewind: Week of September 23rd

Welcome to week one of tapering for my first marathon. It's so surreal to me that tapering is already here. In less than two weeks, I'll be running in Key West at the Southernmost Marathon

This week was jam packed with after school activities, rainy weather, and then working late for parent/teacher conference night. I didn't expect to get much done this week. I'm trying to rest and take care of myself in these final weeks before the big day. Let's rewind and see how things went. 

Monday: Rest
Tuesday: Rest, but I did manage to get in a massage
Wednesday: 2 mile run
Thursday: Rest 
Friday: Rest
Saturday: 12 mile run
Sunday: Rest
My long run this week was 12 miles. I ran it with my husband, Joe, and friend Wyndi. This run was a big deal because it was my husband's longest distance ever. He's hoping to do the half marathon in Key West while I'm running the full. I'm so proud of him! 

On another note, today marks 100 days until the Walt Disney World Marathon weekend. 
For me that means the Dopey Challenge. Can you believe it?? Only 100 days away? I'll feel a lot more confident about Dopey once I conquer my marathon. Will I see you during the WDW Marathon weekend?
