Weekly Workout Rewind: Week of September 30th

This week has been a blur. I'm not quite sure where the days went. The week started off great but by Thursday, I was down for the count with the stomach flu. I missed Thursday and Friday from work. I have NEVER taken two sick days in a row. My body is wearing down. 

I started feeling good yesterday and now today, I woke up feeling sick again. So I'm loading up..I'm taking vitamins and pre-cold Zicam tabs. I will not get sick. I will not get sick. This is my new mantra.

My workouts this week were okay. I ran 4 miles on Wednesday and felt amazing. In fact, it was my fastest 4 miles ever. I couldn't believe it! Then I got sick. 

My last long run before the marathon was today. My schedule called for 8 miles. I slept right through my alarm this morning. Nothing was getting me out of bed. So this afternoon I told myself I would do 6 miles and take it easy. Little did I know, my body only wanted to do 4 miles. That's all I had in me today. I wish it was more, but I don't think it was going to make or break me. I'm glad I stopped at 4 and listened to my body. 

So marathon week is upon me. We leave for the Keys on Friday. I'm as nervous as can be. I feel like fear is staring me right in the face. My goals for this week are to eat healthy, get my extra carbs in (within reason of course), hydrate like it's my job, and get lots of rest, rest, and rest.
