A Time to Give Thanks

As Thanksgiving approaches, one can't help but be thankful. For me it's a year long event. There isn't a day that goes by that I'm not thankful for all that I have. I'm truly blessed.

For this blog post, I wanted to focus on giving thanks for my running. I've been running for a little over two years and there's a lot to be thankful for....I've crossed the finish line of countless races, I've ran with my mom during a race, I've had my favorite people waiting for me at the finish, and I've met great people along the way.
This weekend I'll be running my first full marathon. I'm thankful that my body allows me to continue running (although my IT band isn't my friend right now) and I'm thankful for my support team. My husband allows me to train and he's my go-to guy for making early morning runs manageable. I couldn't do it without him.

I'm also thankful for YOU...each and everyone of my virtual running friends. I love being able to keep in touch with people via the blog, FB, or Twitter. Everyone in this online running community is SO supportive and I'm so thankful for that.
Thinking about running, what are you thankful for? Share it with us!

  1. I'm thankful for the strength I've gained and for really learning to love running this year. It's been one of the most trying years of my life, but running was the one thing that was consistent :)

  2. I'm very thankful for my ability to run. Not everybody is physically able to, so I'm extremely thankful that I don't have any physical obstacles that prevent me from being able to run. I'm also thankful for my running partner in crime, my husband. If it weren't for him, I don't know that I'd be able to get as far as I have with my running.

    1. Good for you getting out there despite the pain...that's dedication. I love this "Where there is a will, there is a way" motto. I'll be using it this weekend during my marathon.
