Blah...blah...blah

I have been in such a blah mood lately. And it's crazy because I was coming off of such a high from the Space Coast Marathon.

The morning after the marathon when I woke up, the outside of my left foot hurt. I couldn't really tell if it was just a regular ache and pain (I mean I did just run a marathon after all). So I kind of shrugged it off...until about Thursday. By the end of the week I was in pain and limping.

I spent days icing, elevating, and compressing. By Monday, I went and got an x-ray. Luckily the x-ray didn't show anything. But the doctor said to stay off of it as much as I could. What?!?
How's that possible? I'm in the middle of getting ready for the runDisney Dopey Challenge next month. That's my goal and right now I need to get my foot better, so I can be ready for Dopey.

So it's been almost two weeks since I've run. I'm hating it. And the worse part....I can't even tell if my foot is getting better. I hope to be back in the game by next week.

Have you ever had an injury that sidelined you during training? What did you do to help pass the time until you were back in action?

  1. I had a major case of the blahs after my last marathon too, but I think it was because I didn't have another race on the schedule. Sorry your foot is hurting. Hopefully a little rest will help!!

  2. I had a big blah episode after WDW and Tink this year. I think I didn't run for 2 months. Hopefully your foot is better soon. :)

  3. Oh no! Hope your foot is feeling better. I definitely have blahs after races. This year I had enough races on my calendar within a week or two I was back at it, but I'm purposely not filling up 2014 so that I can do some cross training, focus on running just to run, and going after a couple of big goals.

  5. Hoping your foot will start feeling soon lady! It is so easy to get a case of the blahs this time of year, I think. Especially since you are coming off a race. I have no real solutions except for finding another way to stay active and making the most of your time around the holidays.

  6. I haven't had the blahs yet--I always pack on so many races because if I don't have one to train for, I don't have the motivation to run. But ask me again after the marathon--I might have some after a race that big!!

I hope your foot is feeling better! As for injuries, I feel like I'm a walking injury! I feel like something is always hurting (heel, knee, and now some weird shooting pain).
