#chiMarathon Training: Week 8

Week eight of #chiMarathon training is complete. With each passing day, the miles are increasing the days are getting closer. We're now less than 10 weeks away and almost half way through training. It seems like just yesterday I was working on a training plan. Crazy, right? 

This week of training went good. My husband was out of town all week on business, so I was nervous about getting my runs in since it was just me and my little guy. But I made it work. 

Here's how week eight of training for the Chicago Marathon went:

Monday: Rest
Tuesday: 4 Miles
Wednesday: 7 Miles
Thursday: 4 Miles
Friday: Rest
Saturday: Rest
Sunday: 8 miles, 7 miles 
Weekly Mileage: 30 miles

My long run got messed up thanks to the rain. As I was lacing up to head out Sunday morning it started to downpour and there was no way I was going to run 15 miles in the rain. Eventually it stopped, but I didn't get out until after 10:00. Between the heat and another thunderstorm, my run ended at 8 miles. So I finished the other 7 miles on the treadmill. I didn't plan on splitting up the run, but it's better than not logging the mileage. 

I hit a new high for weekly mileage....30 miles! I've never hit 30 before. Things are getting real.
