Since October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, I wanted to highlight some running products/races done by amazing companies to bring awareness to the cause.
Shoes: ASICS is all about the pink right now! They have joined forces with Christina Applegate's Right Action for Women charity to help provide breast cancer screening assistance for at risk women. These are limited edition shoes and ASICS will donate $10 for each pair to Right Action for Women, with a guaranteed minimum donation of $100,000 up to $150,000. How awesome is that?
Headbands: Sparkly Soul Headbands are great about supporting causes and they don't disappoint with breast cancer awareness! Their latest headband is perfect to show support this month. A portion of proceeds from their breast cancer headband will be donated to support breast cancer awareness and research.
Socks: Balega nailed it with their Breast Cancer Awareness sock campaign. The limited edition Enduro no show socks have words of grit and grace across them: Mind over Miles, Believe, I Achieve, Never Give Up, and Don't Say I Can't. Balega will donate $1.00 from the sale of each sock from this collection to the Breast Cancer Fund.
: The 26.2 with Donna National Marathon to Finish Breast Cancer in Jacksonville, FL is an experience like no other. Last year I had the opportunity to be a #runDonna ambassador and run the half marathon. What drew me to #runDonna was that 100% of race proceeds and raised funds go to breast cancer research and care. That is amazing! Race weekend is February 13-15, 2015 and distances range from 5K all the way to ultra marathon.
There are great opportunities to support a wonderful cause. Remember the reason for this month: to bring awareness to breast cancer. Take the steps to have a plan for detection in the early stages and encourage others to do the same.
