2014: That's a Wrap!

It's hard to believe that today is the last day of 2014. Seems like time is moving faster and faster these days. As the year is wrapping up today, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on 2014.

Running: When I looked at my end of year wrap up post from last year, I was surprised at all the running accomplishments I had. There were lots of firsts. This year I feel like I didn't have as many. Here are my running highlights from this year:

  • I ran my own challenge of 3.1, 6.2, and 13.1 between the runDisney Princess weekend the runDonna half marathon in February. I enjoyed being able to participate in both while fundraising for a great cause!
  • In May, I ran my fastest 10K. I hope to break my time in 2015.
  • In November, I ran the runDisney Wine and Dine Half Marathon in the rain. That was a first for me, so it deserves a spot in my 2014 running highlights.
  • Complete my Goofy simulation run of 10/20 miles was a huge feat for me. So it deserves a mention!

Me: The second half the year I've spent focusing on me. I'm proud of the effort I'm putting in to eating healthy and losing weight. I'm on a journey to a healthy, fit lifestyle and I'm thankful that 2014 was my year to start on this journey.

Family: When I look back through pictures, 2014 was the year of family. We took lots of little trips this year and really focused on spending time together. That's what life is about and I'm so blessed to have the family that I have.

Blogging: When I compare blogging stats from last year to this year, I dropped the ball at times on the blog. This is what happens when life gets in the way. But ever since I got my new Mac Book Air, pushing out blog posts has become super easy and I've been posting like crazy. Get ready for more of this in 2015!

So as we all wrap up 2014, it's time to reflect on our blessings. There's no need to spend a lot of time focusing on the things that we don't have or the things that didn't go our way. Sure it may not have been the year of the hitting the pavement for me. But it was the year of love, laughter, and health. And what more can a girl ask for!

How did your year shape up? Share what was your favorite moment of 2014? Happy New Years Eve!
