Can you believe we're less than two weeks away from the runDisney Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend? I knew that once the holidays passed marathon weekend would feel like it was right around the corner and it is.
When I signed up for the Goofy Challenge back in April, I knew it was a big goal. And here we are, getting closer and closer to race weekend. I'm officially in taper mode now and feel as prepared as I'm going to be. Last weekend, I did what I called a Goofy simulation run and rocked it. I ran 10 miles on Saturday and 20 miles on Sunday. Talk about feeling great after both runs!
I've also been doing awesome with my shorter runs and speed workouts. Last week was an awesome week with running: I ran my fastest mile ever and then the next day I ran a 5K PR. It's so awesome to see progress with my training.
The countdown to the runDisney #GoofyChallenge is on! I'm so excited for this running adventure of 39.3 miles over two days. It's going to be something I've never done before and who knows if I'll ever do it again, so I'm going to enjoy every moment and every mile. After all, isn't that what runDisney is about?
