Non-Scale Victories!

Losing weight is always a battle. It's something that I've fought on and off for most of my adult life. And most people fight the same battle because let's be honest....losing weight is hard. It takes lots of self-control and dedication. You have to be mentally prepared to start on the journey to a fit and fabulous lifestyle.

This weekend marks my eighteenth week on Weight Watchers. I've actually stuck with something for about four a half months. And do you want to know why?? Because it works. Each week I see small victories on the scale. A pound here, a pound there and they all add up. Check out this week's weigh in:
It's losing weight the right way, so that it never comes back. This isn't a fad and it definitely isn't a diet. For me, Weight Watchers is about control. I am in full control of my points: how I use them, if I will save them, and if I will earn them by doing activities.

This weekend I had a HUGE non-scale victory (NSV). I've been avoiding buying new clothes for a few weeks because I'm not to my goal weight yet. But it's to the point that all of my clothes are way too big on me. So I decided to go and buy a few, new staples for my wardrobe. As I was trying on the new clothes, I wanted to cry. Before Weight Watchers I wore a size 12 (sometimes a size 14) in pants and a size large or x-large shirt. In the dressing room, I started with size 8 pants and medium shirts to try on....too big. I couldn't believe it. So I went and got a size 6 pants and size small shirts. I thought to myself, "there is no way these will fit!" And...THEY DID!! I'm still in shock. Say goodbye to the clothes on the left and hello to my new, smaller clothes on the right.
Seeing progress each week on the scale is nice, but this was truly the icing on the cake for me. I'm sharing these Weight Watchers updates and victories with you because if I can inspire one person to embark on a fit, healthy lifestyle then my job is complete. Don't waste time today thinking about tomorrow. If you're thinking about losing weight, I encourage you to look into Weight Watchers! Three or four months from now, you'll be glad you did!!

  1. Congratulations on your size 6!! It's a huge milestone and what a victory. I just moved to a size 4 and can totally relate to not believing the numbers on tags, but being thrilled by the results! Congrats! Hard work pays off !

  2. Congratulations!!! I lost ~35 pounds a few years ago, but sometimes now, I still forget that the smaller sizes fit me! I will often see a pair of pants or a shirt in my actual size and think "oh, this won't fit me" and am still surprised when it does. Wishing you the best of luck on your continued weight loss journey :)
