#chiMarathon Lottery

Today the Bank of American Chicago Marathon lottery opened. 26.2 miles through the Windy City. Sound like something you want to do?? If so, it's time to play the lottery!
The lottery for the Chicago Marathon will be open for six weeks. You have until Tuesday, April 21st 12:00pm CST to enter. Then on Tuesday, April 28th runners will be notified if they secured a spot. Emails will go out throughout the day to let you know if you'll be running through Chi Town. If you get selected in the lottery, you have until Tuesday, May 5th 12:00pm CST to register and pay for your registration.

Decisions, decisions. For me, I have a guaranteed entry this year because I deferred last year's race. Reading through my old #chiMarathon posts make me want to sign up right now.  But, I'm still on the fence. Part of me wants redemption for my missed attempt at Chicago. But part of me worries that I'm not marathon ready and then what if my knee/leg won't hold up again. Time will tell.

What are your thoughts on entering the lottery for Chicago? Will you be entering or passing?

  1. I entered the lottery for the first time ever! I ran Chicago 4 years ago before there was a lottery. Last year I won a free entry. I wanted to run it one more time, but if I don't get in, I have a few other races in mind as a backup plan.
